Jonathan Dove takes opera to new places and reaches new audiences. He has written 28 operas of different shapes and sizes, including the highly successful airport comedy Flight. In 2015, Simon Rattle conducted the premiere productions of The Monster in the Maze, in London, Berlin and Aix-en-Provence. It has since been performed in Lille, Montepelier, Taiwan and Lisbon; this year it will be seen in Gothenburg, Barcelona and Paris. Marx in London, a comedy, opens at Theater Bonn in December.
